MDS and Silly Bandz

HI!

The cutie in the picture is my son Owen, he 3 years old and all boy! His big brother has started him on the latest craze here in Columbus, Ohio. Who new that shaped rubber bands would be COOL. For those that don't know what they are the are basically rubber bands in all different shape. Any animal you can think of to sports, holiday and more. What do you do with them you ask? Collect and Trade. Yes that is it. well that is about all that the boys do with them.

Do your kids or Grandkids have them? if so what do the do with them? I would be interested in hearing what they do with them. Maybe I can give the kids an new idea.

Ok on to the page I did. I used MDS starting with a predesigned layout for photos only. I added my photos. then I did not need the other photo boxes so I changed them to pattern paper and added a couple embellishments. About 15 minutes later I have a page done. I think the more I use MDS the easier it will be.

Enjoy!

Trendy Trees and Bargello

Inside the card. I think the tree is a tipped a little. Maybe a little windy today when I made the card. :):) I guess I will have to fix that. I guess I shoud have broke out the stamp- a- ma-jig. You can see the patterned paper that I used Before I embossed it with Square Lattice embossing folder from the Summer Mini catalog.

On my card I use a technique that is found in Quilting called Bargello. I discovered this idea in the latest Demo only magazine from Stampin Up. I love the look but want wanted to step it up a notch. I took my bargllo rectangle and attached it to old olive card stock then ran it through the big shot in the Square Lattice folder. I do this so the paper does not curl up to much.
I love this look and I am digging out all my striped paper to make more cards. This would look great on the front of a gift bag too. O all the possiabilities.
Only 7 more day to order retiring stamp, accessories and more. Have you taken advantage of this wonderful Sale?

Shower greetings

HI All!
Today's card is using the retiring Eight Great Greetings set. Pumpkin Pie, taken with Teal and Old Olive look good together. The ribbon flower is using 3 strips of 1/4 in ribbon folded in half and then staggered over lapping each other to form the flower. The center is 2 of the flower using the boho blossoms punch. The Scalloped trim border is along the bottom. * Available in the new Catalog.

Enjoy!!

A brown bag for Dad

This is what the inside of the card looks like. It needs something or does it if it's for a guy. I like the touch that the sanded background stamp added to the card.
Dad is going to like this one. I uses the All holidays stamp set with a twist. It is from MDS. I did not have the baja breeze ink so I selected, re sized and printed in my desired color. The paper is the retiring chocolate chip DSP that I attached to the whisper white card stock then ran through the big shot with the Sizzix texture plate. I do this so the DSP lays nicer. Just a tip from me to you.
Have you ordered your retiring Stamps and more yet? Only 13 more days.
Want a new catalog? Send me an e-mail and I will be happy to get one to you as soon as possible. They are $5 with a $5 coupon when you place your first order in July.
Enjoy!

Father's day circles

Circles are my favorite. I love this DSP and the other cricle DSP from the Occasion mini. I'm so happy there are 2 of each sheet in the Sweet pea DSP pack.

This is my take on a older Mojo Monday sketch. I like the simple layout. I took my 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card and cut off about an inch to make the card square. I think this is my new favorite card size to make. The best part is that is fits into an A2 envelope.

Enjoy!

Father's Day Thoroughly Modern

HI! Sorry it has been a while since I have posted. Just like most of you the end of the school year seems to be packed with all kind of fun filled events. I think it is going to be a busy summer with both boys all day long. My 3 1/2 yr old no longer takes a nap. O I miss those days.

The card I wanted to share today is made with The Thoroughly Modern DSP that will be retiring soon. I used Bermuda bay, Soft Suede and whisper white card stock. "DAD" is made with chipboard that was inked with soft suede ink.

Enjoy! I'll be back with more soon.
